CU 2018 Job and Internships Fair

Sunday 22-4-2018

Cairo University 2nd annual Career Fair is a two-day job and internship event that provides a forum for cultivating and developing productive relationships between CU potential graduates and the corporate world. It aims at integrating employers’ recruiting needs with the skills and qualifications of CU potential graduates. The Fair gives participating companies an opportunity to build their image on campus among a qualified pool of CU students.

Companies registered in the Fair are assigned booths on campus. As a guide for CUians seeking employment, CU publishes a Job & Internship Fair booklet which provides relevant information on the participating companies and the vacant positions. Corporate representatives are also encouraged to bring an ample supply of corporate material, such as brochures, annual reports, and application forms to be distributed to candidates. Interested students apply in person to company representatives at the Fair.

CU Job and Internship fair gives you the opportunity to meet with several corporate representatives of participating and sponsoring companies and explore available job vacancies. Participating company representatives will discuss career opportunities with you and provide you with relevant information about their organizations’ profile. To make the best out of the event, follow the tips/suggestions listed below:
  • What is your Fair strategy? What do you want out of this fair? Full-time opportunity? Expanding your professional network? A training opportunity ?
Try to develop a winning strategy this time!
  • Is your CV branding you well? Is your CV well-written and represents your skills powerfully?
Bring at least 20-30 CV copies to the Job Fair depending on  the number of companies you want to meet.
  • Have you prepared a one-minute presentation ?
Prepare a short summary about yourself that will briefly, but enthusiastically, show your strengths, skills, experience and interests.
  • Are you planning to dress for success?
Come to the Job Fair in a semi-formal manner (no jeans). Do not forget that your appearance will be evaluated by an employer, and employers are sure to remember the applicants who present themselves in a professional manner.
  • Are you ready to ask smart corporate questions?
The Employment Fair is your chance to learn about your target employers and potential career opportunities. Make sure to ask for informative material (brochures, special vacancy announcement…etc.) as well as corporate insights.
  • Do you know what you should leave the Employment Fair with?
Business cards from representatives you meet at the Employment Fair to follow up on specific topics discussed during the Employment Fair. Also, take notes of each corporate conversation, as each company is a case and you should remember what you need to follow-up on.
